Tuesday – September 10th: Blackbeards Island, GA

Another very out of the way place that I found, and this one was very nice. The drawback is that this great spot is about eight miles off of the ICW. It is very secluded, with sand dunes, pine trees, and of course marsh grass. We dinghyed to a sand beach, and walked around a point to a beautiful beach on the Atlantic. Since we had a strong Northeast wind, there was also spectacular surf as well.

We took a couple of very pleasant walks on the beach. No lights to be seen at night, and only weak Verizon service, which disappeared after dark. Then, Wednesday morning just before we left, a couple Dolphins (Annie loves Dolphins) breached right next to us at the beach where we was strolling. Very very exciting!
