On Saturday, February 27th, 9 of us embarked on a full moon kayak tour of Matlacha, led by Carmen Driscoll of Carmen’s Kayaks. It was a perfect evening with beautiful clear skies. We stopped to admire the sunset at 6:30, paddled through some mangroves and when we emerged, that beautiful full moon started to rise. […]

To all Captains, Thank you all for supporting Summerset. Based on the radio chatter I believe that everyone had a great time and the sailing competition was the right mix of fun and fierce. Attached are the results. First, the Lou Tilley Classic cruising race on Sunday was won by Gopher Baroque – Jason Pim […]
While you’re on your solitary retreat, you can always create! Ladies Bridge Club helped Rose Young construct the 4′ x 72′ hanging, “Currents of Destruction” to call attention to the rings of algae floating in our waters. Next stop is a “SAVE THE REEF” project in Ft. Myers for the summer of 2021. Before that […]

On Wednesday, March 4 we met Connie Langmann at Big Hickory Pass for a kayak tour of the water and mangrove tunnels. There is always something to learn when you get so close to nature. The Club’s Thanksgiving cruise is in the books. Cabbage Key fed 27 of us in fine fashion. The food was delicious. Weather couldn’t have been better. Warm days and cool nights. We shared snacks on the beach two evenings and one on Chase the Clouds. Plenty of time for beach walking and hanging out to […]
We had a great event for the third 2019 – 2020 Boat of the Year Event. The first race of the season is always Summerset, but then there was a race down in Naples in late October and then we (CMCS) host the Festival of the Islands. By the way – for anyone interested – […]

Ladies bridge club went to Mote Aquarium two times in the month of May. Both occasions were great and included water ski show. We will see you in the Fall when Ladies Bridge Club will do a water School tour.
While this is not a CMCS Event, our members have been invited to attend.
Everyone was scored as one class as we only had six boats racing. You can easily see the results by class if you choose. But still a great day on the water. We ended up running four races with a nice tight course.
What a great day on the water! Races were fun, competitive and at times, plenty of wind. And then the after party. I just feel sorry for all the people that didn’t come. Beer, Wings, Shrimp. And then lots of great conversation! The official results are as follows and the details are attached. Help the […]
To All that attended the Festival of the Islands Race! First I want to thank Bob and Bev Duff, Glen Vetter, and the crew on the Committee Boat! These events do not happen without them. And then a BIG thank you to Amy Gallagher and Paula Vetter for getting the after party organized. PERFECT! It […]
We had a Spooktacular time at South Seas for Halloween. Most of us spent Friday afternoon in the beautiful resort pool overlooking Redfish Pass relaxing with tropical drinks from the Twisted Snook Tiki Bar. Life is Good! South Seas gave us use of the Captain’s Lounge for the weekend so we had a great Happy […]
Fifty-three years ago, some local sailors placed a classified ad in the local newspapers looking for “Anyone interested in racing sailboats from Fort Myers Beach to Naples”. That first race led to an annual event that sailors in SW Florida look forward to – known as the Summerset Regatta, and the birth of the racing […]
