Dan Quinn, Biologist IV
Non-native Fish and Wildlife Program
Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission
Topic: Nile Monitors and Tegus in Southwest Florida
Dan Quinn is the lead nonnative wildlife biologist for FWC in Southwest Florida. Originally from Kansas City, MO, he graduated with a B.S. in Biology from Truman State University and received his M.S. in Wildlife Conservation from the University of Georgia. He has conducted ecological research domestically and abroad and has spent the last 8 years in the Southeastern United States working in the field of wildlife conservation and management. Dan currently leads a new office with a team of four other nonnative biologists focused on managing priority nonnative wildlife. His team has several ongoing management projects with a current focus on iguanas, Nile monitors, and tegus.
