Instead of taking a slip again, we decided to anchor along Taylor Creek, which runs along the South side of town. We went down the creek about a mile to a less crowded area. Something we were not aware of is that Carrot Island along the Southern shore of Taylor Creek is a wildlife preserve, and had quite a population of wild horses. As we took our evening dinghy ride with Annie, we spotted several small herds, about a dozen horses altogether.
Torrential rains that evening cleaned the boat off and really cooled things off. The weather has been a little on the cool side for August, so absolutely no complaints here.
