What can I say – more and more marsh grass. But we are definitely starting to see more trees again. For the evening I found a nice place that only charges $1 per foot for the night. While the evenings are cool enough for sleeping. It does get a bit humid, and a bit uncomfortable until at least an hour after sunset. Paula feels it is just not good for the dog to be huffing and puffing like that, so a marina where we can run our AC is typically preferred. $1 per foot makes the decision seem like a “no brainer”.
Lady’s Island turned out to be a great choice. Clean and nice facilities, several good restaurants close by, and the dockmaster’s wife gave Paula a ride to a nearby Publix grocery.
Lady’s Island is just across a bridge from Beaufort, NC. The down side of staying here is you don’t get to walk around the Beaufort historic area, but we did that just a few months ago.
We decided it was a good night for pizza. Two blocks from the marina I found a place called “A Cut Above” that had Italian food and Pizza. The pizza was excellent! We had their Supreme – got the large – and now have a great lunch for Saturday. We just keep finding these great little places. Lady’s Island Marina and A Cut Above both go onto our “Definitely Recommended” list.
