The Coast Guard Visits Oriental

Today we got a not so early start. Usually, we’ve been waking about 6:30 AM. Today, it was more like 8:00 AM. It turned out being a beautiful day. Good Southwest winds while most our track was heading North. For almost 48-miles we averaged 6.3 knots. Rain squalls seemed to threaten us all afternoon. But we dodged around them until just after we anchored for the evening. We are now anchored a the furthest navigable point on the Pungo River. It’s a beautiful place and secluded place.
