On Wednesday, the 17th, we sailed on up to Deltaville and got a slip with electricity for our little AC at Deltaville Yacht Center (DYC). Our original plan was to keep going the next day, heading for Washington DC. But, mother nature had different ideas. The “Heat Advisory” was going to make it just too much for us to brave the elements.

Today we are still waiting out the 90+ degree weather here in Deltaville. It’s not too rough an assignment. Really friendly people here, a very nice pool, a loaner car, and a great big field for Annie to explore.

Yesterday evening, Paula and I were in the pool, having our own little Happy Hour (just like we did on Wednesday and Thursday). Another couple, Della & Ralph, from close-by Richmond, VA, came by and joined us for the Happy Hour. Turns out they invited us to go out to a local place. They were meeting up with a group of people from Richmond who come to party in Deltaville. Turns out this group of about 30-people just informally meet at “The Galley” every Friday night. A few were sailors, but were just there to have a good time. We were just welcomed into the group and had a great time.
