Greetings Y’all! Well, I think we had a great time at the CMCS Summer Picnic at the Yacht Club on July 29! We had about 45 attendees, and a hot but super sunny and windy day. Perfect crowd and weather for the Pavilion!
Bill Cook, George Noyes and David Naumann did a brilliant job as Grill Masters, and provided us with juicy Italian sausages and cheeseburgers. Along with the meat, we had grilled onions and peppers courtesy of Pixie Noyes for garnish on the sausages, and all sorts of other accoutrements courtesy of CMCS for garnish on the burgers.
Members did a great job of providing appetizers, sides and desserts. For certain, nobody went home hungry that day!
Our Commodore Sandy sold lots of raffle tickets for Summerset, and Bill Misenheimer and George Noyes were each the lucky winners of a juicy watermelon as part of a bonus prize drawing (so keep buying ‘em – you never know what or when you’ll win something!)!
We had a bevy of outstanding volunteers who all helped make the party a success. In addition to the Grill Masters, set up and clean up were made easy with the help of Cindy Naumann, Debra George, Bob & Cathy Friedel, Pixie Noyes, Kathleen & Russell Vance, John & Susan Reekie, Jo Beauvois & others. Thank you all (and anyone I’ve forgotten) for all of your help!
Both Julie and Wendy will be off in other parts of the world in August, so you won’t see us at the Members Meeting. But don’t worry, we never sleep, and are already thinking about our next event. And to borrow from the Famous Mr. Summerset “It’s How Many Days Until the Holiday Party???”!! I’m sure you all have already blocked December 19 on your calendrs! Stay tuned for more info…
