We had a surprisingly low turn-out for what is usually a popular cruise. Only nine boats participated. This can possibly be blamed on the forecast of poor weather. But, we actually experienced fairly good weather. In fact, we did not experience wind on the nose either going nor returning from Pelican Bay. This seems to be a relatively rare occurrence for CMCS cruises.
The attending crews did manage to gather for “Happy Hour” on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings. OK, Thursday’s gathering was not on the “official schedule”, but we had a small group anyway.
The most popular activity for this cruise seemed to be “getting your dinghy going”. The list included: forgot the outboard fuel tank (solved); just can’t start the outboard (not solved); dinghy is leaking air (solved); unintended exit from the dinghy (solved). There may have been more issues which captains refrained from reporting. We’ll never know.
Unless someone has a correction, here is the official list of our brave participants: Windswept; Freestyle; Lazy Susan; Ranger; Trust Me; Chase the Clouds; Buffy; Samphire; Blown Away.
