We had a great turnout for the annual Shrimpfest dinner, and we think everyone went home with happy bellies! Thanks so much to our Chief Cook-And-Bottle-Washer Bob Duff, and his kitchen sous staff Mike Ziegler, Sandy Canning, Tom & Linda Koenig, & Bill Cook. The dining room looked stupendous thanks to Bob & Cathy Friedel, Steve Roake, and Barry Long. We did think we were running short on a couple of things so Bill went over to the Boat House to try to buy a head of lettuce, but got a free rum drink instead because “that was the funniest order they ever got”, and Barry popped out to Publix for some extra pepper for the tables (he got no rum drink for his troubles!).
Thanks also to Elise Missall who joined the kitchen team, and the Pim family – Kaitlyn and Natalie designed and constructed those beautiful centerpieces for the tables, Carol and her girlfriends (who were in town celebrating their 29th birth- days again!) volunteered for clean- up, and Jason (after noting that the Liberty Ashore Team was “shorthanded”) volunteered to help serve!
Lots of others such as Dee Dee Cheek pitched in at the end for a speedy clean-up, and we sure appreciated them. The shrimp, as usual, were excellent – so visit TRICO Seafood Market in FT Myers for fresh seafood anytime!
