Docked at Isle of Hope

Docked at Isle of Hope

Today was a shorter run of 23-miles to Isle of Hope, Georgia, which is on the outskirts of Savannah. Isle of Hope is a whole different story from Kilkenny. Very friendly dockhands. Friendly people in the marina office. Clean, air-conditioned showers, laundry. In a really nice neighborhood which is great for walking your dog.

Shopping and restaurants are at least a mile away. BUT, the marina has a couple loaner cars! We borrowed one for dinner and a stop at the grocery store this evening. West Marine is 5-miles away, so we’ll head there tomorrow.

Oh yes, for anyone coming this way, we found a special for the Isle of Hope Marina – 4-nights for the price of 3. Just tell them you found it on ActiveCaptain.com.

Tonight’s dinner was very good Mexican at a close-by place called Jalapeno’s (No relation to the Jalapeno’s that went out of business several years ago in Fort Myers.) The place was packed. Tonight’s special was 32-ounce drafts for $2.50. Yes, the food was great.
