Full Moon over Pinckney Island

Full Moon over Pinckney Island

Off for a 36-mile run to MacKay Creek and Pinckney Island in South Carolina. I’m pretty sure this place is not in your road atlas because there are no roads here, just a track through the woods that the rangers use. It’s a beautiful, secluded place to anchor for the night. There’s an abandoned boat ramp for Annie and I to land the dinghy. It is located just West of Hilton Head Island, which is on your road atlas. We now have a full moon which means the tides are more extreme. Here, the tidal change it right at 10-feet, which happens four time a day. This really changes the landscape in the South Carolina Low Country.
