Ahoy Gypseas!!!
This is the second year Bob and I have hosted the Gypseas in Paradise cruise and we had a great time!
Fortunately, unlike last year, the weather didn’t interfere with our plans and most cruisers were able to arrive on Friday.
Current in the Gordon River was especially strong due to recent rains. Boaters were out helping each other catch lines and assist with tying up. Our club member Roger Horton on Adventure was already birthed at the marina and was able to help us tie up. All boats docked without mishap.
We all met at the poolside Tiki bar for drinks and snacks. Margaritas were served thanks to Steve Roake lending us his concoction machine.
Saturday had some rain showers but members were still able to enjoy the pool and explore the Naples area. Barefeet was due to arrive after the dock master had closed up. Members were eager to assist and the “CMCS dock crew” got them tied up and plugged in with ease. Cocktail hour was moved into the air conditioned Captain’s lounge.
Sunday was another leisurely day. Cocktail hour and pot luck dinner were held in the Captain’s lounge. Some members brought items to grill, but the marina propane tank was empty. So Ambiance provided one of her tanks. We CMCS members are ever resourceful.
On Monday some members were up and underway at dawn. Barefeet was able to sail all the way home.
We all had a great time. Thanks to all who attended!
